Why Meat, Dairy, and Oil Are Not Good For You

I didn’t start my current whole-plant based diet for a fad.  I didn’t even start it to loose weight or to avoid cancer.  In January of 2014 at the age of 54, I ended up in a ambulance with severe chest pains on my way to an emergency room.  My grandfather died from a heart attack at age 60, my father had his first heart attack at age 55 and then triple by-pass at 72, and I was told there was nothing I could do about it. I had symptoms of pains shooting up my left arm and tightness in […]

Our Move to Florida from California

After almost 25 years in California, our family moved to Florida. It was time.  Doris and I had done some incredible things throughout our stay in California.  Doris started Samba Collection in our art Studio on Daisey Avenue.  I had my first art show there, was accepted into the new artist gallery at the LA County Museum of Art, co-authored VisualText with Amnon Meyers, we started SambaLa, we owned Tonys Restaurant for a number of years. SambaLa was by far our most expensive hobby but in many ways the most gratifying.  I found myself, Doris and our friends doing things we […]

Why NLP++ Is Different

My degree is in Linguistics.  I hung out with really amazing linguists for almost two years while getting my masters degree and know what an amazing thing human language was, is and will be.  Linguistics can be very complicated and linguists’ job is to make sense of it. Linguists are often confused with polyglots: those that can speak many languages.  In the modern era however, linguistics is not about that.  Rather, it’s about the “systems” that make up languages. Today’s linguists break up the world of language into sounds, words, phrases, sentences, semantics (meaning), and discourse (story).  They like levels — easy-to-understand […]

VisualText Addiction

It sounds like a marketing ploy or a big lie.  But the truth is, writing text analyzers using VisualText is addictive. Some say it’s the most fun you will ever have programming. After using VisualText for over a decade, I think I have some insight into this claim. Wikipedia defines addiction as: “…the continued repetition of a behavior despite adverse consequences,[1] or a neurological impairment leading to such behaviors.[2] Addictions can include, but are not limited to, drug abuse, exercise addiction, food addiction, computer addiction and gambling. Classic hallmarks of addiction include impaired control over substances or behavior, preoccupation with […]

Film Festivals Afraid to Include Einstein Wrong in Scientific Injustice

It is a hard sell to festivals. Festivals are made up of people who are well-studied and most consider themselves “up-to-date” on all things science. The current thinking of most screeners for film festivals is: “if Einstein were wrong, I would know about it so this is crackpot science”. But this is simply not a true statement. Film festivals accept the documentarian director’s word if it involves social, political, or personal injustice.  But they don’t consider this if it has to do with Einstein, a darling to most intellectuals. Einstein is the Gandi, the Jesus Christ, the Abraham Lincoln of science. […]

Is the Earth Expanding and Even Growing?

Back in October  of 2008, I stumbled upon a video showing an animation of the earth expanding and I was mesmerized. I couldn’t stop watching it.  I had no idea of who made it or where this idea came from.  All I know is that so many things fell into place, that I could not turn back.  Since then, it has become one of my favorite science subjects. It explains a lot things that we don’t have answers to in science. where  did the water on earth come from? why were dinosaurs so big? why are we finding oil everywhere now? why is […]
